Well, I had my first run-in with a scooter. I completely "ate it" on the bike path. The 2 guys were gentlemen & stopped to make sure I was ok. No real harm. Just wiped out & a little wounded.
Aah, it was great!

Before leaving Amsterdam, Mom & Dad gave us tickets to Antwerp, Belgium!
We spent the entire day exploring the city & enjoying the many cafes.
We had such a great time!
Hee, hee!
A Roman soldier, Silvius Brabo, is said to have cut off & flung into the water the hand of the giant who exacted a toll from boatmen on the river. The tale explains the presence of severed hands on the city's coat of arms & statues throughout Antwerp as well. In fact, Antwerp means "hand throwing".
Convent.
On the way to the square. Just behind me is De Kathredral.
De Kathredral, Antwerp.
Taking 200 years to construct, this cathredral is quite impressive.
This was one of Mark's favorite parts of the day.
It was nice to have city scenery, then a few blocks away be at the river.
Aah, so sweet.
Mark having a bier in the square.
2nd photo is taken from the opposite direction.
Nice buildings! Loved the windows.
Below are a few statues of which we thought were worthy of taking photos.
Really, I wasn't trying to pull off an interesting camera angle.
Though, it is one for a few comments...
So funny. We had to get a photo.
Mark standing in front of the statue of the hand being thrown.
I thought this was interesting that the rosary dangles freely from the statue.
Mary is depicted everywhere in Antwerp.
You will find her statue on buildings throughout the city.
Great name for a restaurant?
I'm still undecided.
There were lots of interesting little buildings hiding within walkways.
Funny name for a store.
Perhaps we can find new patients for Mark's study.
Below are photos of a small fashion show taking place this afternoon.
Lots of loud music, drinks, and interesting people.
All of this took place for charity, but we're not sure for which one.

Mark & I had to work this afternoon, so Mom & Dad were on their own.
They toured the little town of Overveen as well as a bit more of Haarlem.
Aren't they cute!
View of Overveen
Too Funny.
Having a drink in Haarlem Train Station.
We had fondue!
Sunday, April 15th
We took the train to Zandvoort to see the shore of the North Sea. Interesting "scenery" to follow...

Saturday: 4/14/07
Today we ran all over the city of Amsterdam. We saw everything, plus watched the tour boats compete for canal space with the personal boats and canal bikes.
We tried Dutch pancakes & ended the day pouring our own bottles of wine from casks at our neighborhood wijnhandel.

We rented bikes and toured the city of Delft.

Below are some of the many gorgeous tulip fields we saw this afternoon.
