HAPPY 36TH BIRTHDAY, MARK!!!!!
For Mark's Birthday, we took the train to Utrecht, Holland for the day.
For the evening we had a delicous dinner at Cafe Pacifico.
Baby ducklings next to a cafe. So cute. There were actually 9 babies, but only 7 are making an appearance in this photo.
Photo of the sandwiches from an "Italian" stand.
Seriously, the sandwiches (or broodjes) were as big as 'yo face!
They were quite lekker (delicious), too!
We were told that this is the tallest church in The Netherlands.
Mark in Utrecht.
Funny Building.
Thought we were in New Mexico for a moment....
Back in Amsterdam.
And perhaps a bachelor party...
These guys were hilarious walking down the street!
Mark's parents sent us to dinner for his birthday!
We love the Mexican restaurant, Cafe Pacifico, so it was a great birthday spot.

Queen's Day!
April 30, 2007
This lively celebration for the Queen's birthday brings lots of people, live music, and food stands. In addition to the street celebrations, it is the only day of the year that "yard sales" are allowed.
Below is a collection of our first Queen's Day experience.

Walking through the crowds.
Note: These were taken on 2 different days. The crowds lasted all weekend.
We look so little in the first photo. So funny.
No wonder you cannot buy pants under 34" in length!
Live music and DJ's were heard throughout the city.
Notice the DJ in the window blasting music.
This was taken in Vondelpark. It was full of people "yard-selling" their goods.

Kids all around the park displayed their talents with hopes of making a bit of money.
Some took a different approach to making money.
Young performance artist.

We sat in Museumplein listening to music, drinking, and eating pizza.

The entire city was packed full of people wearing orange. No matter where we were in town, we were in a crowd much like the ones above.

Definitely not for the claustrophobic-types.

The canals were packed with people, too!

After a long weekend, it looks as though everyone was exhausted.
